How to Record a Phone Call
Who uses conference phones?
Conference phones can be used by any business or profession. They are useful for any sales organisation with remote staff; to your local doctor requiring immediate translations for a sick patient; and anyone in between such project managers; lawyers; architects; exporters; designers; bankers or brokers. You would use a conference phone when you need to meet with people, and one or some of those people can’t be there in person. How often does that happen and you have to put off your meeting because someone is out of the office?
Why use a conference phone?
• If someone is out of town you don’t have to miss your meeting - just conference them in
• They help promote group communication in your organisation
• It is a fast and easy way to bring small or large groups together with little equipment and preparation
• The cost of a conference phone far outweighs the cost of travel and amount of time saved
• Be conscientious - conferencing is better for the environment
• Conference phones are great for increasing customer and employee collaboration and communication
• Simply put – why not?
I already have a good telephone what’s wrong with using speaker phone for a conference?
Speaker phones on your telephone have a limited ability to produce good sound quality at both ends. With your normal speakerphone you have surely noticed that you sometimes lose words, sometimes even entire sentences during a call. This doesn’t happen with conference phones. Good communication means that you need to hear each other clearly and speakerphones do not promote clear two-way speech and we end up having to compensate for missed words. If you end up spending more time trying to figure out what someone has said, you risk missing something altogether. This isn’t very professional. Good conference phones will have full-duplex and 360 degree pick-up meaning you can talk simultaneously, without clipping the audio signal. In other words, you can hear your conversational partner while you are talking yourself. Don’t conference on a speaker phone use a conference phone.
Aren’t they just for the boardroom?
No conference phones are very advanced and are readily exploiting today’s technology. We have conference phones for your computer, softphones, VoIP and IP telephone systems; you can use your conference phone with a wireless headset; you can conference via your mobile phone (Bluetooth); and yes we even have simple ones to use spontaneously with your normal old desk phone.
Do they work with VoIP, IP phone systems and mobile phones?
Yes, they do.
Can I record and email conference meetings for people who should have been there?
Yes we have four models of conference phones where you can record and email meetings and conversations. These models can also just record the sound within the room you don’t need to be on a call to record. Konftel 250, 300, 300W and 300IP have SD all recording functionality.
Can I make multiparty calls with a conference phone?
If your telephone or switchboard supports three or more party calls then your conference phone should support this.
